About Tuning

Our history in vehicle tuning dates back to 1991

Torque Performance began in 1991 under the previous owner and tuner Robin van Velden, one of the pioneers of modern ECU tuning in New Zealand, with the early development of Holden and Ford tuning plus the aftermarket. Torque Performance was also the first company in New Zealand to offer OEM ECU tuning on Euro vehicles back in 2002.

Current tuner and co owner Daniel Antonievic, started with Torque Performance in 2010, and trained under Robin, until 2020 where he took over ownership of the business with Jon-Paul Ferguson.

Daniel is a specialist in OEM ECU’s such as Bosch, Continental and Fomoco, but has strong capabilities in aftermarket ECU tuning including helping aftermarket ECU companies develop tuning features & ideas that have been added into their core tuning software. Daniel also has various motorsport tuning achievements, with a strong portfolio tuning multiple championship winning production racing cars throughout New Zealand.

With over 30 years of tuning history and experience, a vast range of tuning tools, and arguable the largest database of tune files in New Zealand, you can rest assured knowing your vehicle is in good hands.
