• We offer individual power runs and full dyno day bookings for car clubs etc. Pricing varies depending what our customers request from us. Dyno days require a minimum of 10 cars to make it worthwile for us.

  • This service is only available to New Zealand based customers and vehicles, deleting an emission device in New Zealand currently does not command fines like countries overseas, however it is a WOF requirement for vehicles registered in NZ after 1st May 2010 to have a Catalytic converter or a DPF (diesel), if originally fitted to the vehicle.

Torque Performance Developments is not responsible if the vehicle fails a WOF, and putting the vehicle ECU back to factory after a delete patch has been flashed to the ECU will be at an additional cost to the customer.

  • Pops and bangs or crackle tunes are available to customers on certain vehicles only. For the feature to work safely the catalytic convert needs to be removed (See the previous FAQ about catalytic converter deletes).

Pops and bangs works by delaying the injectors switching off on deceleration and retarding ignition timing to allow unburnt fuel to enter the exhaust system and then combusting, creating a popping noise in the exhaust.

As part of the catalytic converters job is to burn unburnt fuel from the exhaust gasses, pops and bangs tuning will not work properly if the catalytic converter is kept in place and can overheat it causing it fail and create more problems such as blocking the exhaust system as well as making it harder for the the exhaust to scavenge heat out of the engine which can cause internal engine damage.

  • When taking your vehicle to your dealership for service, they may update your software in your ECU. This is due to many reasons such as improved tuning for emissions, engine component control updates or external controller updates. We can re-adapt your tune if done by us to your updated software. However there usually an added cost as there is time involved in adapting the tune as well as additional licence costs from our tuning tools.

  • We do, all tuning offered is a result of vehicles running on our dyno, datalogging parameters and adjusting the mapping to suit. Our tunes have been developed to suit New Zealand fuel and conditions.
